Toen ik afgelopen zondag klaar met werken was en blij naar buiten liep zag ik dat het gesneeuwd had, en niet zo’n beetje ook niet. Nou, ik was echt niet blij, ik houd helemaal niet van sneeuw en dan druk ik me nog zachtjes uit!
Maar goed, ik ben heelhuids thuis gekomen en daar ging het om. Toen ik mijn straat inreed zag ik dat veel buren al geveegd hadden, veel buren! Bij mij voor de deur was niet geveegd, daar lag nog volop sneeuw. Ik was kwaad en ben meteen door naar binnen gelopen. Wim zat tv te kijken en keek me even aan. Schijnbaar zag hij aan mijn gezicht dat ik kwaad was.
“Is er iets niet goed of zo?” Vroeg hij heel onnozel.
“Ja, inderdaad,” snauwde ik. “Was het erg veel moeite om je luie gat te heffen en de stoep schoon te vegen? Iedereen heeft sneeuw geruimd, iedereen behalve jij. Hoeveel moeite is dat nu?”
Hij trok meteen een kwaad gezicht. “Ook goedenavond, leuk je te zien,” snauwde hij terug. “En wat die sneeuw betreft, maak je niet druk, die veeg ik morgenochtend weg, dus dan weet je dat!” Ik zei niks meer, ben naar de gang gelopen, heb mijn jas uitgetrokken en ben door naar boven gelopen. Ik dacht bij mezelf, zal me benieuwen!
Nou, ik kon het wel geroken hebben, want toen ik opstond lag hij nog in bed. Ik keek op de klok en zag dat het al half negen was. Het liefst had ik hem wakker gerammeld, maar dat heb ik maar niet gedaan. Ik heb een oud joggingpak aangetrokken en ben zelf maar begonnen met sneeuw te vegen. Een buurman kwam nog naar buiten om een praatje te maken, maar daar stond ik niet op te wachten.
Maar goed, inmiddels is de sneeuw weer weg, maar daar gaat het niet om. Ik ben nog steeds kwaad op Wim en zeg niet veel! Alleen het hoognodige!
Ik zal blij zijn als ik Ruud weer zie, héél blij!
Maar even iets anders. Afgelopen zaterdag zat ik rustig een boekje te lezen toen er een man naar binnen kwam. Ik schatte hem een jaar of zestig, niet veel ouder. Hij knikte en bleef bij de deuropening staan. Ik lachte vriendelijk en wees naar de wc deur. “De toiletten zijn daar,” zei ik.
Hij lachte en zei: ‘Daar kom ik eigenlijk niet voor, ik wilde even alleen zijn.”
“Oh,” reageerde ik verbaasd, “dat kan.”
Hij deed een stap naar voren en keek even rond. “Ik ben vanavond hier omdat ik door vrienden was uitgenodigd.
“Leuk,” antwoordde ik.
“Ja, dat is ook leuk, zeker omdat mijn vrouw er niet bij is.” Ik keek hem verbaasd aan, maar zei niks. Dat hoefde ook niet want hij schudde zijn hoofd. “Ik word knettergek van dat mens, écht waar! ”
Geschrokken keek ik hem nu wel aan. Hij zag het en deed een stap naar voren. “U hoeft niet te schrikken hoor, maar het is wel zo. Sinds ze niet meer werkt en de hele dag thuis zit is ze onuitstaanbaar geworden. Ik mag maar een keer per week douchen en de wc pas doorspoelen als ik een grote boodschap gedaan heb. Ze gebruikt ook maar een emmer sop om het hele huis schoon te maken. Zo kan ik nog wel even doorgaan. Ik heb haar al gevraagd waarom ze dat doet en toen zei ze dat ze milieuvriendelijk wilt zijn. Zo’n onzin, het slaat nergens op. Ze slaat gewoon door, op alles.”
Ik knikte maar wat omdat ik niks wist te zeggen, maar dat hoefde niet want hij ging vrolijk verder. “Met me naar bed gaan wilt ze ook niet meer, ze zegt dat het niet goed is als je dat vaak doet,dat het ongezond is.”
Ik dacht bij mezelf, ja, die verhalen hoor ik wel vaker! Mannen!
Maar ik moest wel iets zeggen, iets waar hij wat aan had. Maar er schoot me niks te binnen.
Dat hoefde ook niet, want hij had de perfecte oplossing bedacht!
