De kerstdagen zijn me reuze meegevallen. Het was best gezellig, Wim had zelfs een cadeautje voor me en dat vond ik lief. Het was een tegoedbon van onze kapper. Nou, ik heb hem bedankt en zijn lievelingsgerecht op tafel gezet, konijn in het zuur, daar is hij dol op. Ik niet, Jeroen ook niet, daarom had ik voor ons twee biefstuk gekocht. Dat vinden we alle twee heerlijk. Dat was eerste kerstdag, de dag erna moest ik werken, wel jammer, maar dat hoort erbij. Het was ook druk, ook logisch want veel mensen gaan tweede kerstdag uit eten.
Maar ik vond het niet erg, een dag uitgebreid eten en feesten is voor mij wel genoeg.
Zo rond een uur of acht kwam er een jonge vrouw naar binnen, ze was erg dik, dat viel me op.
Maar…nu komt het! Ze ging niet naar de wc, maar bleef in een hoekje staan.
‘Ik ben zo blij,’ begon ze, ‘mijn man heeft me vandaag mee uit eten genomen, het was een verrassing.’
‘Oh,’ zei ik, ‘dat is leuk.’ Ik bekeek haar nogeens en dacht bij mezelf, nou aan de slanke lijn doe je vast niet. Schijnbaar viel het haar op dat ik zo keek, want ze ging verder.
‘Ik weet dat ik dik ben, dat komt omdat ik dol op gebakjes ben. Mijn man weet dat en daarom heeft hij pas geleden iets bedacht om mij te helpen af te vallen.’
‘Oh,’ zei ik weer om maar iets te zeggen, intussen vroeg ik me van alles af, maar dat hoefde niet, want ze ging verder met vertellen.
‘Ik krijg huishoudgeld voor de boodschappen, niet veel, maar genoeg. Als ik boodschappen gedaan heb moet ik van hem de kassabon mee naar huis nemen en hem die laten zien. Zo kan hij precies zien wat ik gekocht heb en hoeveel geld ik heb uitgegeven. Dat doet hij om mij te helpen af te vallen, want ik mag geen gebakjes meer kopen.’
‘Dat is niet leuk voor u,’ zei ik, ‘zeker als u zo dol op gebakjes bent.’
‘Ik vond het in het begin vreselijk, zonder gebak kan ik niet leven. Ik moet dat hebben, anders word ik knettergek. Maar ik heb nu een oplossing bedacht waardoor ik wel gebakjes kan eten en daar ben ik heel blij mee.’ Ze lachte ondeugend en liep naar me toe. ‘Bij ons in de buurt ligt een bakkerswinkel, daar kocht ik altijd mijn gebak. Ik wist dat ze vaak gebak dat over was en niet meer verkocht kan worden in de container gooiden. Dus ben ik op een dag gaan lopen zoeken, én ik heb hem gevonden!’ Stralend keek ze me aan!
‘Nu wacht ik totdat het donker is en ga zogenaamd een stukje wandelen omdat dat goed voor me is. Ik let altijd goed op, want niemand mag me zien. Ik vind soms halve vlaaien die nog heerlijk smaken. Ook gebakjes, heerlijk, mevrouw, die zijn nog prima. Als ik genoeg gegeten heb loop ik terug naar huis. Mijn man heeft niks in de gaten, hij is alleen verbaasd waarom ik maar niet afval. Hij zegt altijd dat hij het raar vind dat ik nog steeds dik ben.’
‘Nu eet je geen gebak meer en toch blijf je dik!’ Hij vind het zielig voor me, daarom trakteert hij me vanavond. Ik mag nu bestellen wat ik lekker vind. Dat is toch leuk?’
Ik knikte maar wat en dacht, veel gekker moet het niet meer worden. Welk normaal mens doet zoiets! Over smerig gesproken, ik moet er niet aan denken, maar goed, zij is blij en gelukkig.
Toen ze naar buiten liep heb ik haar smakelijk eten toegewenst. Hoewel ik haar beter een goede gezondheid had kunnen wensen!
Dat heeft ze wel nodig!
Sommige mensen hebben er alles voor over om maar te kunnen snoepen, maar dit is graaien…bah. En dan je man zo in de maling te nemen. Jeetje hoe komt het toch dat ik niet afval ?????
